"The Week In
Review"
By Susan Wilson
The three year old Sires Stakes were featured at Lebanon Raceway on our
last weekend of live racing for the spring meet.
Friday night the fillies were the main attraction as four divisions of
pacers and three divisions of trotters went behind the gate. The first division of Ohio
Sires Stakes pacing fillies covered the mile in 2:00.4 over a racetrack rated good. Kalfas
Attack remained on a win streak here at Lebanon as she left sharply from the two hole and
led the whole mile for driver Russell Swartz and trainer Steve Carter. The second division
went to Medoland Kendall in 1:59.2, third division was long shot Cute And Cruising in 2:00
and the final division was won by Kay's Yankee Lou in 1:58.3.
The trotting fillies were led off with a wire to wire performance by
Ms. Pollyanna in 2:04.1, Pegafest in 2:04 won the second division with She's Not Red
muscling her way to a win in the third division in an impressive 2:02.4.
The meet ended with Jeff Nisonger as the leading driver and Tom Smith
taking the training honors.
Lebanon Raceway would like to thank our fans, trainers, drivers and owners
for a great spring meet and we hope that everyone has a safe and profitable summer.
Live racing will resume at Lebanon Raceway in the fall.
Lebanon Raceway will remain open for simulcasting daily throughout the
summer.
